Our Story

Our interest in safe athletic fields began in our own individual communities where the growing need for athletic facilities has tempted school and municipal leaders to install synthetic surfaces being marketed to them by engineers and consultants. When we dug down into the data, we found that the promises of recycling, cost-effectiveness, and safety weren't based on solid evidence.  This led us to create a resource for the countless other communities across the country who are faced with similar promises and challenges.
